Finding the right Quran teacher for your child can feel overwhelming. Here are the key things every parent should look for before booking a class.

Every Muslim parent wants their child to grow up with a strong connection to the Qur'an. But finding the right teacher — especially online — can feel like a difficult decision. Here is what to look for.
One-on-One Attention Matters
The single biggest difference between a good and a bad Quran learning experience for children is personal attention. In a group class, your child may have a teacher's focus for only a few minutes per session. In a one-on-one class, every minute is focused entirely on your child — their pace, their mistakes, their progress.
Check That the Teacher Is Patient
Young children learn at different speeds. A great Quran teacher does not rush — they celebrate small progress, repeat things gently when needed, and make the child feel confident rather than pressured. Before committing to regular classes, always do a trial class and watch how the teacher interacts with your child.
Female Teachers Are Available
For many families, having a female teacher for daughters is not optional — it is a requirement. Make sure the academy you choose can guarantee this from the start, not just "when available."
Consistency Is Everything
The biggest factor in a child's Quran progress is not talent — it is consistency. Two or three short sessions per week, done regularly over months, will always outperform occasional longer sessions. Look for flexible timings that fit your family's schedule so lessons never get skipped.
Start With a Free Trial
Never commit to an academy without first doing a free trial class. It costs nothing, shows you exactly how the teacher works, and lets your child decide if they feel comfortable. If an academy does not offer a free trial, that is a red flag.
